Arena di Verona opera tickets

There is one seller for the Arena di Verona Opera Festival: the Fondazione Arena itself, plus the outlets it authorises. Here is what every 2027 seat costs, which dates are cheaper, and how to avoid paying a reseller for a ticket that may not get you in.

The 104th Arena di Verona Opera Festival runs from 11 June to 11 September 2027, and tickets went on sale with the programme in April 2026. Prices run from €28 for a numbered place on the stone steps on a regular night to €420 for the front row at the opening. The spread is that wide because the Arena sells three things in one bowl: padded armchairs on the floor, numbered seats with backs on the lower tiers, and bare stone higher up.

Everything below comes from the Fondazione's own rates and sectors, how to buy and terms and conditions pages, checked in October 2026. Prices are in euros, per ticket.

The quick answer

Buy from the Fondazione Arena only: shop.arena.it, the call centre on +39 045 8005151, the two box offices, or a Vivaticket outlet. A regular 2027 opera night costs €28 to €345 per seat until 4 November 2026, and up to €20 more per seat after that date. GetYourGuide and Viator do not sell festival tickets.

Where can you buy official Arena di Verona tickets?

Online at shop.arena.it, by phone, at two box offices in Verona, or at an authorised Vivaticket outlet. Nowhere else is official.

The Fondazione Arena di Verona sells every festival ticket itself. Online purchases need a one-off registration with a username and password, and every ticket is issued in the buyer's name. The PDF arrives by email and stays in your account on the official shop. Here are the channels and when they are open:

How much do Arena di Verona tickets cost in 2027?

From €28 on the 6th sector steps on a regular early-booked night to €420 in the front row at the opening. Most visitors pay between €60 and €210.

The Arena prices each evening in one of five bands. The opening is Beethoven's Ninth on 11 June and the 1913 Aida on 12 June. Premieres are the first nights of La Traviata (25 June), Carmen (2 July), Nabucco (29 July), Aida by Stefano Poda (12 August) and the Jonas Kaufmann concert (8 August). Gala and ballet covers Romeo and Juliet, Roberto Bolle and Friends, Viva Vivaldi, Paganini Paradise and Carmina Burana. Every other opera night is a regular date, with the early-booking price until 4 November 2026. Full prices in euros:

Two things stand out. The top three stalls categories cost the same with or without early booking, so the deadline only matters from Silver downwards. And the 4th and 5th sector steps are cheaper on ballet and gala nights (€52 and €35) than on regular opera nights, which makes Romeo and Juliet good value if you were going to sit up there anyway. Our seating guide explains what each sector looks like from the inside.

Is the early-booking deadline of 4 November worth it?

Yes, if you already know your date. You save €3 to €20 per seat on a regular opera night, and nothing on premieres or the top stalls.

Early booking covers regular opera dates only. Two evenings are left out of it: Aida ed. 1913 on 7 August and Nabucco on 15 August, which sell at the full regular price. The saving per ticket:

For a couple in the 1st Sector Stalls that is €30. Tickets cannot be changed or refunded for personal reasons, so do not rush a booking for dates you are unsure about just to save €10. Lock in flights first, then buy.

Which discounts and reductions are there?

Under 30s and over 65s get reduced prices, there is a €30 under-30 seat in the stalls, a Family rate, and a lowest-price ticket for disabled guests and a companion.

Reductions need ID at the gate and are not valid on Saturdays. The main ones for 2027, from the official price list:

ReductionWhoPrice on a regular nightConditions
Under 30 / over 65Age on the IDStalls €125 to €135, Tribune €112 to €125, steps from €23Not Saturdays; limited seats

Tribune FamilyChildren under 14 with one adult€2.50 per child, €68 per adultMax 6 tickets; not 11 or 12 June; children under 4 allowed only here
Disabled guests67% disability or more, or any wheelchair userLowest full price (6th sector) for the guest and one companionRequest through the Arena's online form, subject to availability
Companion at €2.50Carer of a 100% disabled guest with a permanent carer's allowance€2.50With the disabled guest's ticket

The €30 under-30 stalls ticket is the best deal at the Arena: the same padded seat as the €150 one beside it. It is limited and goes quickly. The Family tickets for 2027 were marked "available soon" in October 2026. Wheelchair users should use the people with disabilities form, not a standard ticket: the Arena says a normal ticket does not guarantee wheelchair access, and the step-free route into the stalls is through gates 1, 4 and 8.

Can you buy Arena tickets on GetYourGuide, Viator or resale sites?

No. GetYourGuide and Viator do not sell festival tickets, and the Arena forbids unauthorised resale, even at face value.

The Fondazione names Viagogo, Seatwave and StubHub as platforms to avoid, and says it may cancel tickets it considers irregular and refuse entry to the holder. Its terms are blunt: reselling tickets without authorisation is prohibited, and resale above face value can be reported to the authorities. Tickets carry the buyer's name and a numbered seat. Nothing unnumbered is issued any more.

Search "Arena di Verona opera tickets" and you will find listings that look like festival tickets but turn out to be a daytime visit, a concert in a palace, or a resold seat at double the price. On this site, nothing we link to is a festival ticket. What the platforms do sell around the festival:

When should you buy, and which nights sell out first?

Buy openings, premieres, galas and Saturdays as early as you can; regular weeknights in June and September are the easiest to get late.

The Arena does not publish sales figures, but the price structure tells you where demand sits. Saturdays are excluded from every reduction, the opening costs up to €75 more than a premiere, and the one-off nights (Beethoven's Ninth, Jonas Kaufmann, Carmina Burana, Roberto Bolle's two galas) happen once or twice only. A few practical rules:

  • Pick the night, then the seat. A Thursday in early September on the 4th sector steps is easy. A Saturday in August in the 1st Sector Stalls is not.
  • Watch the start times. June and July performances start at 21:15 (the opening and ballet premiere at 21:30), August and September at 21:00. Long operas end after midnight.
  • Buy each person's reduced ticket with their ID details ready. You will show the ID at the gate.
  • Lost or stolen ticket? Fill in a self-certification, bring a copy of your ID and take both to the ticket office no later than two hours before the show.

Once you have a date, the which opera guide helps you choose between the two Aidas, and the rain guide explains what you get back if the weather wins.

Frequently asked questions

On a regular opera night, €28 on the 6th sector steps when bought by 4 November 2026, and €35 after that. Reduced tickets for under 30s and over 65s on the 6th sector start at €23, and children in the Tribune Family sector pay €2.50 with an adult at €68.

Can I buy Arena di Verona tickets at the door?
